The Collection takes an intensely private archive and presents it with the visual seriousness of a museum object. The garments are not anonymous props. They arrived through real relationships and real moments, then remained as small physical anchors for memory.
The work is affectionate, awkward, funny and deliberately unresolved. It asks what happens when ordinary objects become containers for personal history, and where the line sits between souvenir, archive, portrait and confession.
The canvas is accompanied by an associated physical archive. The relationship between the image and the objects matters: one turns memory into composition; the other insists that the source material still exists in the world.
